Hong Kong is not only an international financial center, but also a cultural hub hybridding tradition and modern. Various tour exhibitions and shows keep going on all year round. Museums and galleries are emerging now and then. The Hong Kong Maritime Museum, which was established in 2005, was relocated to Central Pier 8 in 2013. A collection totaling 1200+ pieces are exhibited in 13 halls from 3 floors in line to illustrate the history of Hong Kong shipping and to tell trade stories of Pearl River Delta. Relicase was invited to provide museum display cases for this special museum, and had a pleasant collaboration with Haley Sharpe Design and Kingsmen Group.

However varied in forms, objects exhibited in this museum have their own stories about the sea. All of them are witnesses of maritime history of Hong Kong. The exhibition designer fantasized various showcases for specific themes. Relicase turned these table top cases, wall cases, freestanding cases and niche cases into reality.

Relicase style is sophisticated in details, yet concise in layout.

Narrowly fitted wall case. Appears neither redundant, nor cramped. Allows visitors to appreciate subtleties of the exhibits closely, and saves space for movement.

For the integrity and visual impact of thematic units, we specially built a series of large wall cases to display collection clusters of specific theme.

Color combination is another important factor in display. Colors of plinths and frames are adapted according to surroundings and themes of galleries. For instance, a silver gray is applied to plinths and frames of showcases to bright up a gallery of aqua blue tone. Various in sizes, flexible in color combination, the design ethos of Relicase has always synchronized with the need of exhibitions and the exhibits.
